Do they still exist, the distinctions between entertainment and art, mass culture and elaborate aesthetics? Canadian artist Lynne Marsh analyzes the reciprocal borrowings of art and popular culture. In "Stadium - first cut" the Berlin Olympic Stadium becomes the setting of a new video work. Marsh combines footage shot on location in the stadium with 3D animations of an architect's model and composite footage of a performance to a dynamic, and finally dizzying fusion of contemporary music videos, SciFi and fantasy movies. She uses the manifold possibilities of digital multimedia technologies to create parallel spaces and worlds beyond the mere representation of reality.//
