IGUAPOP!
Barcelona's finest gallery at heliumcowboy artspace.
Iguapop Gallery, Barcelona

mit Miss Van , Tim Biskup, Mike Swaney, Sergio Mora, Rai Escale, Catalina Estrada, Victor Castillo, Blami & Adolf Gil

Pressetext:

Opening: Saturday, August, 25, 2007, 8 p.m.
Finissage: Friday, September, 21 2007, 7 p.m.

Iguapop was founded in 2003 and ever since, they have developped their outstanding reputation in fine, urban-art and aesthetics. Besides the very well known artists Tim Biskup and Miss Van, Jim Avignon, Blami or Mike Swaney, Iguapop also represents artists who are deeply rooted in the music business: Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth and the Radiohead-friend and cover-artist Stanley Donwood showed their artworks here.

Iguapop and the heliumcowboy artspace are related in a special way, because of their artist Boris Hoppek who has been represented by both galleries for the last 3years. Besides, they focus on a fresh and young generation of artists. Their breakthrough and popularity is related to the international network behind the galleries.
(note: Boris Hoppek won't take part in this exhibition)

Because of the collaborational work, concerning the artist-relations and extraordinary meetings in Barcelona and during the ART Basel in 2007, a friendship evolved — and now the time has come to celebrate these similarities with an exhibition.

Mike Swaney,Victor Castillo and Blami (who will also DJ) will be at the heliumcowboy artspace for about a week before the opening to create murals and installations on site, exclusively for the gallery and to celebrate the opening with us.
