Ibrahim Mahama (b. 1987, Tamale, Ghana) lives and works between Accra, Temale, and Kumasi (Ghana). He makes monumental installations, using coarse jute sacks draped as a large patchwork over buildings. 2015 he participated at the 56th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale 'All The World’s Futures' curated by Okwui Enwezor, and 2017 at documenta 14 in Kassel. In 2019 he participated at the 58. Venice Biennale.
In March 2019, Ibrahim Mahama opened the artist-run project space Savannah Centre for Contemporary Art (SCCA) in Tamale, Ghana.
Mahama studied Painting and Sculpture at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.
