short biography

Nairy Baghramian (b. 1971, Isfahan/Iran), based in Berlin, reflects in her work the cycle of production, functionality, decoration and abstraction of aesthetic objects. Her sculptures are made of steel, silicone, resin, and leather, from which she creates fragile, expansive installations with deformed, distorted, mirrored organ-like structures that often bring the overlooked and unstable, especially hidden territories of the feminine, to consciousness.
