Rosalind Nashashibi and Lucy Skaer, 2017
"Our current collaboration, Why Are You Angry, explores Gauguin's paintings of Tahitian women. The project, whose title and poses directly reference the painter's works, explores the problems and possibilities that arise from his specific view of women. The film oscillates between staged and spontaneous shots of Tahitian women in front of their homes, at work, and in our rented apartment." - Nashashabi/Skaer
