William Baziotes (b. 1912, Pittsburgh / Penns - 1963 New York) was an Abstract expressionism painter. In 1948 he founded the school "Subjects of the artist" (later "The Club") together with Robert Motherwell, Barnett Newman and Mark Rothko. He studied at the National Academy of Design in New York.
