In Anna Fasshauer's new works, more than before, image and object form a continuum. Her monochrome, rectangular wall sculptures are derived from picture formats.
The sculptures in the room are what they are. Improvisations of material, shape and color that allow the viewer to feel their physical process of creation.
Fasshauer's claim is as modest as it is excessive. Without ambition to break out of this frame, she moves within art and its possibilities and keeps up with the incomplete art history of the 20th century. In the large-format drawings on plastic plates in the back room, she shows human figures, characters who look at her works: art critics, museum visitors, collectors. Fasshauer does not celebrate the myth of the creative, but the strangely resistant reality that art has in an understanding of the world that is characterized by efficiency, benefits and profit.

Bild und Objekt bilden in Anna Fasshauers neuen Arbeiten mehr als zuvor ein Kontinuum. Ihre monochromen, rechteckigen Wandskulpturen lehnen sich an Bildformate an.
Die Skulpturen im Raum sind, was sie sind. Improvisationen aus Material, Form und Farbe, die ihren physischen Entstehungsprozess mitfühlen lassen.
Fasshauers Anspruch ist ebenso bescheiden wie maßlos. Ohne den Ehrgeiz aus diesem Rahmen auszubrechen, bewegt sich innerhalb der Kunst und ihren Möglichkeiten und nimmt es dabei mit der unabgeschlossenen Kunstgeschichte des 20 Jahrhunderts auf. In den großformatigen Zeichnungen auf Kunststoffplatten im hinteren Raum zeigt sie menschliche Figuren, Charaktere, die ihre Werke betrachten: Kunstkritiker, Museumsbesucher, Sammler.
Fasshauer feiert nicht den Mythos des Schöpferischen, sondern die seltsam widerständige Realität, die Kunst in einem Weltverständnis hat, das von Leistung, Nutzen und Gewinn geprägt ist.
