press release

Basic Instinct: Minimalism Past, Present, and Future demonstrates how artists working from the mid-1960s to the present have created paintings, sculptures, and installations that emphasize certain essential qualities of art such as material, color, and form. The exhibition, mostly drawn from the MCA collection, examines how a reductive approach to artistic expression has been adopted and continuously reimagined by artists over the past four decades. Featured artists in the exhibition include Gene Davis, Doug Ischar, Donald Judd, Jim Lambie, John McCracken, Helen Mirra, Damián Ortega, Richard Rezac, Robert Smithson, and Tony Feher. This exhibition is organized by MCA Associate Curator Dominic Molon. Pressetext
