Euro Visions

The Magnum photo agency commissioned ten photographers in 2004 to take pictures in the newly acceded European Union countries. Martine Franck, Carl de Keyzer, Alex Majoli, Peter Marlow, Martin Parr, Mark Power, Chris Steele-Perkins, Lise Sarfati, Donovan Wylie and Patrick Zachmann’s images each betray a different approach to presenting the landscapes, people and habits of the countries, among them Hungary, some of which are familiar to photographers, others seemingly distant and exotic. An exhibition that presented the photos and also installations and multimedia materials was first staged at the Pompidou Centre in 2005.
