Installation view. Photo: Gregory Benson. Los Angeles artist Jim Isermann, whose vibrant geometry is inspired by modern design, was the subject of this 15-year survey. Isermann's work ranges from shag rug combination paintings to room installations that evoke early 1950s interiors. Isermann employs techniques that are usually relegated to the handicraft-hobby category, including weaving, quilting, braiding, and leaded glass. The show features more than thirty pieces, including sculptures, paintings, and large-scale installations.
