The first part of the DNA curated group exhibition series Topological Constellation // Art and Architecture I opens on the 2nd of May at DNA, combining experimental architecture, photography and art installations. The exhibition will run from the 2nd of May until the 30th of June and will investigate the developing trends of this contemporary avant-garde culture that expands worldwide, with examples from North Korea to Europe. The opening will follow a party at the private rooms on the 1st floor.
The exhibition will present works from Dongwoo Yim and Rafael Luna (PRAUD), Ola Kolehmainen, Mariana Vassileva and Nicolas Moulin.
The architectural duo Dongwoo Yim and Rafael Luna (PRAUD) is participating at the upcoming 14th International Architecture Biennale in Venice and has been shown in MoMA, New York in 2013, 4th International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam and The Shenzhen & Hong Kong Bi-City Biennnale of Urbanism/Architecture in Shenzhen in 2009. Their work has been exhibited in Boston, South Korea, and Tokyo.
Ola Kolehmainen, a Berlin based photographer and member of the Helsinki School, has had solo shows at Haus Am Waldsee in Berlin, Det Nationale Fotomuseum in Copenhagen and Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art in Vaasa. Kolehmainen has participated in the Daegu Photo Biennale 2010 and the 17th Biennale of Sydney in 2010 and in group exhibitions in Oslo, New York, Sydney and Palma de Mallorca.
Mariana Vassileva’s multimedia artworks have been included in exhibitions at Centre Pompidou in Paris, Tate Britain in London and Kunsthalle Detroit in Detroit. Recent solo exhibitions include Kunstverein Ruhr E.V. in Essen, DNA in Berlin and Musée d´art contemporain de Montréal in Montreal. Vassileva has participated in Trienal no Alentejo in 2013, Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art in 2011 and Biennale of Sydney in 2010.
Nicolas Moulin is a French photographer and video artist who lives and works in Berlin. Moulin has exhibited solo at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen and Art Basel. Moulin has been part of group shows worldwide and his work has been exhibited at Centre Pompidou-Metz in Metz, Pavillon français in Shanghai and Palais de Tokyo in Paris. In 2006, Moulin participated in Busan Art Contemporary, Biennale de Busan in Busan.
