Lee Krasner (b. 1908, Brooklyn / NY, d., 1984, New York City) was a pioneer of abstract expressionism and a member of the American Abstract Artists. She was friends with Ray Eames, Willem de Kooning and Franz Kline and married to Jackson Pollock. In the works of both artists mutual influences are recognizable. Lee Krasner created paintings, collages and monumental works on unrestrained canvases.
