Adam Budak (b.1966, Krakow, Poland) is director of the Kestner Gesellschaft in Hanover since November 1, 2020. He was artistic director of the National Gallery in Prague, Czech Republic and curator of the BIENNALE GHERDËINA VI, 2018 in Ortisei, South Tyrol, Italy; also curator of contemporary art at the Kunsthaus Graz at the Landesmuseum Joanneum; Co-curator of the Prague Biennale 1, 2003; Co-curator of the International Biennial of Contemporary Art Prague, 2005; and Curator of Architectures: Meta-structures of Humanity, Morphic Strategies of Exposure in the Polish Pavilion of the 9th Architecture Biennale in Venice, 2004. Adam Budak studied drama at the University of Jagiellonski in Krakow and Philosophy, art history and architecture at the Central European University in Prague.
