Alec Soth (b. 1969, Minneapolis / Minnesota) lives in Minneapolis. He is regarded as one of the most important representatives of documentary photography. You can call him a lyrical documentary photographer. His main work is "Sleeping by the Mississippi", 2004. He is a member of Magnum Photos and has been working for The New York Times Magazine, Fortune, LIFE, The New Yorker, amonst others.
