Christian Marclay, born 1955 in San Rafael/California, lives in New York and London. He is known for his innovative work combining sound recording, collage, photography, video, film, and performance and worked together with Sonic Youth, Elliott Sharp, John Zorn, Fred Frith, Zeena Parkins, Shelley Hirsh, Christian Wolff, Butch Morris, Otomo Yoshihide and Arto Lindsay. His work has been featured in two Venice Biennales and in major exhibitions at the Tate, Pompidou and Guggenheim museums. He was winner of the Golden Lion award at the 2011 Venice Biennale.
In 2019 he will participate at the 58. Venice Biennale.
