Constantin Brâncuşi (Brancusi, born in 1876 in Hobitza, Romania, died in 1957 in Paris) was a sculptor who pioneered the extreme simplification of forms. He studied at Craiova School of Arts and Crafts; at Bucharest School of Fine Arts; and at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris and lived in Paris since 1904.
