La Vaughn Belle (b. 1974, Tobago, Trinidad and Tobago) is an artist who draws on elements of architecture, history, and archaeology to create narratives that challenge colonial hierarchies and invisibility. She works in a variety of disciplines: painting, installation, photography, writing, video, and public interventions. Belle studied in the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana, Cuba and at the Columbia University in NY.
