Leonora Carrington (born 1917 in Lancashire / England, died 2011 in Mexiko City) was a surrealist artist and writer. She studied at Ozenfant Academy for Art, London. From 1937 till 1940 she lived with Max Ernst near Paris. Famous works are Retrato de Max Ernst, 1939; The Temptation of Saint Anthony, 1946; Temple of the world, 1954; The Great Dragon appears the Lord's servants, 1986, and others.
