Nancy Spector is a curator, critic, essayist, and the Artistic Director and Chief Curator at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, where she has been a curator since 1989. She was chief curator at the Brooklyn Museum, 1997 Cocurator at the Venice Biennale and 1998 Cocurator of the 1st Berlin Biennale. In 2007 she was Commissioner of the US Pavilion at the Venice Biennale with a presentation of works of Felix Gonzalez-Torres. Spector studied Philosophy at Sarah Lawrence College, and Art History at City University of New York.
