Stéphane Mandelbaum (b. 1961, Brussels/Belgium; d. 1986, Beez, Namur/Belgium) created hundreds of portraits with ballpoint pen, oil paint or colored pencil of Arthur Rimbaud, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Francis Bacon, but also of Joseph Goebbels or Ernst Röhm. At the age of 25, he was murdered in Belgium under suspicious circumstances by underworld figures.
