Svetlana Kopystiansky (b. 1950, Voronezh / Russia) and Igor Kopystiansky (b. 1954, Lviv / Ukraine) live in New York and work together regularly. Together they were represented at the Venice Biennale in 1988 (Aperto curated by Dan Cameron) and 2001 (directed by Harald Szeemann), Biennale of Sydney 1992 (curated by Anthony Bond), Biennale São Paulo 1994 (curated by Nelson Aguilar), Istanbul Biennial 1995 (curated by René Block), and at documenta 11 in Kassel in 2002 (directed by Okwui Enwezor). Svetlana Kopystiansky showed her works in 1997 at Skulptur.Projekte, Münster (curated by Kasper König).
