M+ West Kowloon Hong Kong’s museum for visual culture, located adjacent to the park on the waterfront, is scheduled to open in 2019. Encompassing 20th and 21st century art, design, and architecture, and moving image from Hong Kong, China, Asia, and beyond—M+ will be one of the largest museums of 20th and 21st century visual culture in the world. The building is designed by Herzog & de Meuron.
The M+ Pavilion, which opened in September 2016, serves as the primary site for M+ exhibitions in the run-up to the completion of the M+ building.
