press release

The artists collective The Otolith Group will lead a workshop from 18 to 20 March at Fondazione Galleria Civica in the context of Trentoship / Trento.link projects.

The Otolith Group was founded in 2000 in London by its core members, Anjalika Sagar and Kodwo Eshun: their art practice includes the realization of art works, the curatorship of exhibitions and the organization of cultural events such as discussion platforms for a survey of all the aspects concerning the contemporary art practice. The workshop will be based on the monograph published on the occasion of The Otolith Group solo exhibition, A Long Time Between Suns, held in 2009 at Gasworks and The Showroom in London, where they presented the trilogy Otolith I, II, III. This monograph, which will be officially presented in Italy on the occasion of the workshop, is an archive assemblage which collects several texts and was realized in collaboration with Gasworks and The Showroom, London, MACBA, Barcelona, If I Can't Dance, I Don't Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution, Amsterdam and Fondazione Galleria Civica - Research Center on Contemporariness, Trento.

The workshop A Long Time Between Suns is organized by Fondazione Galleria Civica, Trento in collaboration with Comune di Trento-Politiche Giovanili, in range of the testing of PIANI LOCALI GIOVANI, promoted and supported by Dipartimento della Gioventù-Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri, in collaboration with ANCI-Associazione Nazionale Comuni Italiani and Rete Iter.
