Since 1992, Aglaia Konrad (b. 1960, Salzburg) has been adding a new dimension to the notion of 'architectural photography' by integrating her pictures into a spatial setting. She developed her pictures of metropolitan centres and peripheries on polyester film which she then stuck onto windows. In this way the perceived architecture (the exhibition space) merged with the urban impression (the picture). She hereby broadened the conventional forms of photographic presentation, to which her approach gives a sudden physical quality. This, her first retrospective exhibition, brings together many of her varied uses of photography: monumental photos posted on walls, a series of translucent prints on glass, DVD films, artist's books, charts leaning unattached against the wall, and a new spatial construction.
