The Fascination of Stone, including work by Leonardo Da Vinci, Henry Moore, JMW Turner, Andy Goldsworthy and Ansell Adams.

The exhibition includes work on loan from Tate, The Royal Academy, The British Museum, the National Portrait Gallery and the Natural History Museum. This richly illuminating exhibition explores how artists have taken their inspiration from the landscape and turned their fascination with stone into magnificent works of art.

Dramatic paintings and drawings by great masters reveal the awesome power and beauty of nature. The sophisticated surfaces of sculptures by Hepworth, Moore and Epstein complement a variety of ancient carvings and sculptures. Dazzling displays of jewellery adorned with diamonds, rubies, sapphires and rare lapis lazuli are complemented by uncut stones and minerals from fine geological collections.

Art at the Rockface is funded by Esmée Fairbairn Foundation's Regional Museums Initiative. The exhibition has been organised by Norfolk Museums and Archaeology Service and Sheffield Galleries & Museums Trust with support from the East Anglia Art Fund.
