Discover Artissima 2018!

November in Torino is Artissima! There are just a few days before the opening of the 25th edition of the most important international contemporary art fair in Italy, which has prepared an intense calendar of events and encounters.

Conversations, presentations of art projects and catalogues, lectures and contributions by curators, artists, journalists, visits to the fair with collectors and special guests organised by museums, institutions and associations in the field of art and elsewhere: over 50 appointments for 8 initiatives, created with the aim of offering new keys of interpretation for all audiences, from beginners to collectors, kids to students, enthusiasts to sceptics of contemporary art.

A special area of the fair, the Meeting Point by La Stampa, has been set aside for the presentation of projects and research, events and debates. For the 25th anniversary of Artissima the calendar of conversations organised by Paola Nicolin, editor-at-large of Domus, explores the theme of time – the red thread of this edition – to stimulate the public to engage in wider-ranging, multiple reflections on temporality and the many experiences that connect art to this dimension of awareness.Alongside the now traditional Book Corner by Librerie Corraini, for the presentation of art publications and catalogues, the new development is the Edicola coordinated by Marsèll Paradise, with a careful selection of sector periodicals that can be purchased by exhibitors and visitors.

For the guided tours, the lively programme of the Walkie Talkies by Lauretana 2018 presents 9 pairs of international curators and collectors, conversing on their way through the stands at the fair. The special Ypsilon St'Art Tours by Lancia, on the other hand, accompany visitors in an unusual, specific exploration, concentrating this year on the theme "details of the contemporary" with 6 itineraries: Invisible Cities: architecture in art / Contemporary traditions: echoes from the past / The future is now: contemporary experimentations / Immersed in listening: from performance to video by way of sound / Looking close, seeing far: beyond boundaries / A history made of details: 25 years of Artissima.

The programming at a DAF Struttura is also full of surprises, with a temporary open school that brings together sound, acoustic research, art and performance, offering the fair audience the possibility to enter a futuristic reality of sounds and visual experiences through workshops, sonic experiments, archival recordings, installations and choreographies. And for those who want to approach the art world in an even more active way, there is the Art Advisory service by Unicredit: free personalised consulting offered by the Main Partner of Artissima to those who already collect art, and above all those who want to begin to do so. For the youngest visitors the fair presents Artissima Junior, the new special project in collaboration with Juventus: a workshop space inside the Oval where hundreds of youngsters from 6 to 11 years of age are invited to create a large installation together with the Argentine artist Alek O. and the ZonArte network.
