On the occasion of the Faena Hotel’s 10-year anniversary, assume vivid astro focus has created ángeles veloces arcanos fugaces, a site-specifc installation for revelry, participation, transformation, and the celebration of community—the embodiment of our values and cultural manifesto.ángeles veloces arcanos fugaces is a neo-disco roller rink—an all-encompassing fantasia of music, movement, lights, dance, and explosive color that commemorates the utopian ideals of the disco era and exemplifies the Faena commitment to participatory and interactive holistic art experiences.Drawing upon diverse imagery ranging from films like Xanadu with Olivia Newton-John to Lança Perfume by Brazilian singer Rita Lee, photos from the The Roxy in New York City to the Roxy Roller in Rio de Janeiro, avaf recognizes disco as a pervasive cultural export that has affected artistic practice and influenced pop culture across the hemisphere from North to South.Faena Art Center will have roller stakes available for use in ángeles veloces arcanos fugaces. Visitors and participants are also welcome and encouraged to bring their own.Roller-dance to live tunes from our featured sound illustrator, Lady Bunny, who will be spinning October 11th and 12th from 7-10pm.assume vivid astro focus was founded by Eli Sudbrack (b. Rio de Janiero, Brazil, 1968) in 2001. Sudbrack began working with Christophe Hamaide Pierson (b. Paris, 1973) in 2005 as a duo that often morphs into a collective. Faena is honored to present avaf’s first exhibition in Argentina.
