bauhaus imaginista
September 20, 2019–January 12, 2020

On the occasion of the Bauhaus’ 100th anniversary, Bern will become the Bauhaus centre of Switzerland and celebrate its Masters. Johannes Itten and Paul Klee, both from Bern, taught at the Bauhaus in its early years and left their mark on the legendary school, founded in Weimar in 1919.

Even though the Bauhaus existed for only 14 years, the school continues to inspire. This exhibition traces, for the first time, the influence the Bauhaus exerted beyond Europe, offering a new perspective on the school and its remarkable legacy. bauhaus imaginista is a collaboration between the Bauhaus Kooperation Berlin Dessau Weimar, the Goethe-Institut and the Haus der Kulturen der Welt Berlin in the context of 100 jahre bauhaus and will be on display at the Zentrum Paul in an extended version.
