press release

In celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the Capp Street Project, the CCA Wattis Institute has organized a series of four artist residencies and a resulting exhibition, a symposium, the publication of a catalog documenting the residencies, and the publication of a book surveying the evolution of installation art. Four artists have been selected for residencies: Roni Horn (New York) Ann Veronica Janssens (Belgium) Mike Kelley (Los Angeles) Mike Nelson (London) Each of these artists will create a new work while in residence at California College of the Arts. All four installations will be located on the college's San Francisco campus in the Kent and Vicki Logan Galleries and other campus locations. Each artist will give a series of public lectures during his or her residency (dates and times to be announced). In conjunction with the exhibition, the symposium "Whatever Happened to Installation Art?" takes place at the SFMOMA on February 28 and March 1. Pressetext
