press release

Emil Nolde (1867-1956) is one of the world’s most famous artists; especially his watercolours are known and loved for their beauty and richness of colour. Emil Nolde chose his own path as a free artist and fate made of him a meeting ground for politics and feelings for his home region, at a time of crisis. This extensive, retrospective exhibition displays his artistic development step by step. Arranged in cooperation with Nolde Stiftung Seebüll.
