press release

The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is currently preparing an important survey exhibition of Germaine Richier (1902-1959). The exhibition will be curated by Luca Massimo Barbero and is being organized in close collaboration with the artist’s estate. It will represent the first comprehensive showing of Richier’s work in Italy, and the first large-scale exhibition anywhere since the 1996 restrospective at Fondation Maeght. The Venice exhibition will present approximately 40-50 sculptures, drawings and prints spanning Richier’s entire career, the majority of which will be lent by the artist’s estate.
