Known for his work with video, João Onofre (Lisbon, 1976) has been dedicating himself to many other supports, namely drawing, sound, photography, performance and sculpture.

Conceived as an exploration of the diversity of the artist’s work, the exhibition runs through the various expressions of his oeuvre, presenting the different ways in which he has come to reflect on the history of conceptual art and to convert his references into new expressions marked by his own highly personal, complex and synthetic poetics.

As the largest retrospective ever to be held of Onofre’s work, the exhibition also includes works and a project that he conceived specifically for Culturgest.

The exhibition will be accompanied by the publication of a comprehensive catalogue of the artist’s work.
