Jules de Balincourt

The MMFA is continuing its commitment to contemporary art by inviting the artist Jules de Balincourt to present his first solo exhibition in a major North-American museum. This show, Jules de Balincourt, Paintings 2004-2013, is running from November 28, 2013, to April 6, 2014, in the Contemporary Art Square. The artist has been a notable figure on the New York art scene for the past decade, and his works can be found in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art and most recently at the MMFA.

Designed like an installation by the artist himself, this exhibition brings together a group of paintings in various formats executed in the past ten years. In a free-flowing narrative association that recounts the artist's aesthetic and political concerns, visitors take part in a real road-trip that goes beyond America's borders and takes them on a wild ride across the world.
