Lawrence Weiner

Konrad Fischer Galerie Berlin is pleased to announce the opening of an exhibition by Lawrence Weiner on September 5th, between 6 and 9 pm. Weiner, who is considered one of the most dynamic artists of our times has not changed the principles of his work since the late 1960’s when he became one of founding members of Conceptual Art. From then on he has presented his sculptures, with few exceptions, as texts and leaves any possible realization of the work to the „receiver“. Language is thus considered as a material to build his sculptures, works which are simultaneously simple and complex, poetic and philosophical. Often using past participles his works describe actions, processes or states of materials presenting them as facts. We will exhibit the work THINGS THEMSELVES ON TOP OF OTHER THINGS ON TOP OF SOMETHING ELSE NOW & THEN (1999) together with a new, five-part piece which Weiner specifically built for the exhibition in Berlin.
