LOGE #5: Ulla von Brandenburg

Viele der filmischen Arbeiten von Ulla von Brandenburg assoziieren Tableaux Vivants. Die inszenierten Personengruppen, Einzelpersonen oder kurzen Szenen demonstrieren oft "Spielregeln" gesellschaftlicher Realität, welche die in Hamburg und Paris lebende Künstlerin in historischen Bildmaterialien in Fotografie, Tageszeitungen, Hollywoodkino, Theater oder auf Flohmärkten findet. Für LOGE entsteht in einer Filminstallation die Illusion einer Performance, die das Pförtnerhäuschen zur Projektionsfläche werden lässt.

Most of the film works by Ulla von Brandenburg associate Tableaux Vivants. The staged groups, individuals or short scenes often demonstrate "rules of games" of societal reality which the Hamburg and Paris based artist finds in historical visual material like Hollywood films, old news papers, photography, theatre or on flea markets. For LOGE she creates a film installation to produce the illusion of a performance and that converts the doorman's office into a projection screen.
