Painting as an Experimental Field, 1948 - 1958

This large-scale survey, curated by Geaninne Gutiérrez-Guimarães will explore some of the most critical years in Clark’s development, between 1948 and 1958, a period during which the artist experimented with figuration and abstraction to reach a visual language that would later define her artistic practice.
Following its presentation at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, the exhibition will travel to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Venice, from 27 June to 28 September 2020.
