press release

Sariev Gallery is part of the "PLACES+SUBJECTS – performance art weekend", which will be held from 18th to 20th of June 2010 in Center for contemporary art, Plovdiv. Subsequently Sariev Gallery for Contemporary Art will present Marina Faust´s "On Three Walls" as a sequel of DaDa Da Academy.

Marina Faust is an artist and photographer living and working in Paris and Vienna. She has been working as a photographer i.a. with Magnum agency and Maison Martin Margiela. In 1995 she expanded her artistic practice into other disciplines by first creating an ongoing series of short autobiographic videos. Her body of work today includes videos, collages, objects, photo reliefs and photography. Her videos, objects and photo works have been shown in Europe, the US, Japan and Korea. The installation in Sariev Gallery is composed from her filmic works "Gallerande", "The Park" and "Transport".

DaDa Da Academy archive ON VIEW is retrospective and at the same time preview of the homonymous artist collective founded two years ago in Vienna. DaDa Da Academy is a platform for artistic production and exposition and focused on creating conjunctions between art, sound and poetry. Putting the deconstruction of visual, linguistic and performative patterns to the center of interest, DaDa Da Academy fosters the creation of renewed grammatical structures in the above mentioned areas. Thus the distinction of (working) process and artistic oeuvre and - following - of producer and audience is scrutinized.
