Martine Myrup graduated from the sculpture department at Glasgow School of Art in 2002. Since graduating she has exhibited widely in both Britain and abroad; recent shows include Domestic Disturbances a solo-show at Apartment in Manchester and Isola di... a group-show in Venice.

"My work is a result of my own personal struggle with language, its impreciseness and its shortcomings. I am of a practical disposition but perhaps not adapted to the reality that the spoken language presents to me on a daily basis- my work is a result of this. Using everyday materials the work aims to challenge our conception of the mundane, adhering to a purist approach to materials while maintaining a visual vocabulary adjacent to modern graphics in its use of colour and shape." - Martine Myrup 2009

Tom Varley graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 2008. He completed a studio residency at the Market Gallery earlier this year and has recently exhibited at the Edinburgh Annuale.

Tom Varley’s presentation at Intermedia will consist of a new sculptural installation that makes allusions to ideas of ceremony, ritual and protest. These associations are undermined however, by the characteristics of the works’ rendering and presentation. Drawing attention to the materiality of cultural artefacts, the work reflects upon the reasons why certain objects amount to more than just their purely physical properties.
