Martine Syms. Grand Calme 06.09.2018 - 20.10.2018

Pushing the boundaries of new technologies, Syms’s upcoming exhibition will see the artist transform herself into an interactive avatar, inviting engagement from the audience and responding in real time. Using advanced VR and motion capture technology, Syms has scanned her expressions and movements to create an idiosyncratic imitation of her gesture and speech. The piece will be displayed on a central LCD screen, with the surrounding walls lined by a selection of new photographs.
