With thanks to Pescali & Sprovieri, London.Italian artist Maurizio Cannavacciuolo will animate the Level 5 viewing box with his intricate and intense drawings. His sprawling images are almost invisible yet overwhelming, featuring patterns with floral and cosmic themes and tableaux lifted from style magazines. At BALTIC his work will include new elements from research carried out locally. The resulting images, delicately drawn in pencil onto the walls, form a very personal world which encourages viewers to create their own adventure. Visitors are welcome to observe the artist at work in the viewing box until Friday 3 June.
