Omer Fast - L´Atelier

The work of Omer Fast seeks to analyse the contradictions, ambiguities and paradoxes of contemporary society. His work is based mainly around television and film, whose techniques the artist appropriates in order to explore the complex relations between text and image. Often, he will integrate personal elements into narratives destined for a mass audience, thus twisting the meaning of the narrative. With the installation A Tank Translated, presented at the Cnp, Omer Fast offers a skewed vision of the Israelo-Palestinian conflict which underscores the decisive role played by the media and their necessary corollary, the camera.
