PETER VOSS-KNUDE: PETER AND THE DANISH DEFENCE

Peter & the Danish Defence is an ongoing body of work that operates in a field between popular music and contemporary art. After a collaboration agreement with the Danish Armed Forces in 2014, artist Peter Voss-Knude was granted a unique access to the life and thoughts of soldiers in the army. It was the beginning of an unconventional musical collaboration where Voss-Knude have composed, produced and recorded two pop albums based on the testimonies of modern soldiers. With Peter & the Danish Defence Voss-Knude reflects on how it is integral that civilian and soldiers seek mutual understanding with one another if we are to communicate constructively and meaningfully about being in war.
