REVISIT: EROTIK
11.11.2017 - 07.01.2018

Since 2013, Overgaden has annually delved into on its own exhibition history to explore some of the many artistic experiments and new departures, which have taken place here, and examine them from the perspective of the present. In 2017 we will revisit the exhibition Erotik from 1989, in which 48 Danish female photographers presented their individual take on eroticism. The exhibition was a reaction against how the male gaze and desire dominated the media and the art world, and in its time it attracted much attention. But what has happened to our perception of the erotic since then – and what is and can eroticism be in 2017? These questions are the focal point of this year’s REVISIT, and a number of artists from Denmark and abroad have been invited to respond to the subject in works that span the political, poetic and humorous. The exhibition will be accompanied by an event and debate programme, linking the past and the present.

The exhibition is curated by Gudrun Hasle and Merete Jankowski.

Participating artists: Ann Louise Andersen, Ruth Campau, Emma Hedditch, Hesselholdt and Mejlvang, Lea Guldditte Hestelund, Jakob Jakobsen, Heine Klausen, Tricia Middleton, Michael Mørk, Lea Porsager, Tine Tvergaard, Kristoffer Ørum.
