Frieze Masters

In co-operation with Kicken Berlin, Sies + Höke presents at Frieze Masters an exhibition of photographic work by Sigmar Polke as well as by a group of his predecessors and peers. Highlighting the various periods of Polke’s creative photographic oeuvre, which is characterized by irony and mysticism as well by as an almost painterly approach to photography, the presentation intends to establish a connection between his artistic forbearers, as well as to relate Polke’s work to associate artists and photographers of his own generation. Alongside Polke’s own photographs, works by artists such as Anna & Bernhard Blume, Erwin Blumenfeld, Brassaï, Man Ray, Alexander Rodchenko, Anton Stankowski, Otto Steinert and WOLS are presented.
