In first solo show at Flaca Simon Dybbroe Møller presents two new pieces If the stars had a sound they would sound like this and Double. Both deal with the failed attempts of achieving an understanding of the universe represented by the starlit night sky. A record decorated with crystals comes to represent the northern hemisphere while simultaneously functioning as a tool to investigate “the sound of the stars”.

Another piece reveals the haziness of the most central and mythological of all stars the northern star. In a statement for a publication accompanying a show centring around concepts of violence and decay held earlier this year at KW in Berlin the artist wrote the following anecdote:

“The author of “Art (hi)stories” Peter Laugesen describes in his poem “Boy” how a boy walks down a street smashing all the street lamps he passes. Laugesen concludes: “He wants to see stars.”
