Sophia Kalkau (b. 1960) is one of Denmark’s most significant younger visual artists. This became apparent through her exhibition “From Hexa to the Vase” at Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in the Spring of 2007. Prior to this Sophia Kalkau exhibited a number of sculptures at Malmø Kunsthal. In 2004 she was awarded the prestigious Astrid Noack Grant.

The exhibition Dog and Die is a walk throug works circling about memorys, body and room. Further more, the exhibition includes sculptures, objekts, lucia prints and dias. The bodily physical, the spatial and the utopian are once more a base for Sophia Kalkau, but in this exhibition they are expanded to include such things as subjective experience and the connection to the mobile and bodily interactive observer.
