Vogt Gallery is pleased to present "The Hostess Never Lies," a series of performances curated by Anne Apparu. The series started in September 2011 and includes a total of nine performances.

Participating artists focus strongly on performative arts as their way of expressing themselves. They have been presented at New York venues such as PS1, Brooklyn Museum, The Kitchen, Performa biennial, The Sculpture Center, MoMA, New Museum, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, as well as at CAHM Houston, KW Institute of Contemporary Art Berlin, Palais de Tokyo Paris and Deutsche Guggenheim Berlin. Anne Apparu is a multifunctional cook involved with the well being of society. She feeds with love, purpose, and dedication. At her table, where exchanges happen in a familiar manner, there is no hierarchy: "You are all my favorites." All of the performance artists featured in the series emerge from Apparu’s circle of cherished guests.

“The Hostess Never Lies” is Vogt Gallery’s second curated performance art series emphasizing the gallery’s focus on promoting performance as a medium. Vogt Gallery is also dedicated to drawing attention to the complex artistic and cultural ties that bind New York to both Europe and Latin America.
