Thomas Schütte (b. 1954 in Oldenburg, Germany) is one of the most acclaimed artists of his generation. He is best known for his sculptures, but his oeuvre spans a wide variety of techniques, styles and formats and includes installations, models, drawings and watercolours.

Transformations of scale are explored, figuration meets abstraction, the intimate and personal interplay with the monumental and authoritarian. This autumn’s exhibition, organised by Moderna Museet in close cooperation with the artist, is the first major museum presentation of his body of work in Sweden.
