TONSPUR_spezial_vol. III: Julius Deutschbauer / Ausstellung ONE SHOT !

JULIUS DEUTSCHBAUER and TONSPUR IN VIENNA present an INSULT ARENA a site-specific sound installation which recreates the insults hurled by people of opposing teams (e.g soccer fans). The material he uses purely consists of American, Spanish, German, Croatian, French, Austrian, Flemish and Polish swearwords, getting collected and spoken by artists. At the same time, they are asked to invent their own swearwords at their own discretion. These swearword collections get recorded onto tape and afterwards verbally thrown against each other alternately, as if they were ping pong balls. For that purpose, ACF speakers get installed, which play the swearwords continuously. One speaker is dedicated to one language. The arena's range and radius is only defined by the sound and the sound track. [J.D.]
