press release

Exhibition is developed in collaboration with the artist and curator from Düsseldorf Gunnar Friel and will introduce to the actual video art from Germany and Switzerland. Most of the exhibited artists are internationally successful artists with the background from the Art Academy Düsseldorf and Media Art Academy Cologne.

Extended time as common trait unites the otherwise heterogenic positions. Circular movements, trance conditions and frozen moments. Time collapses.

All artists use video as the dominating media of their artistic expression. The chosen media serves both as an instrument to realise the artists ideas and as confirmation of the famous thesis of Marshall McLuhan “Media is the message”. Not only video projections but also specially created video installations incorporating video as one of the elements will be on show.

In February 2008 exhibition was opened in Kunstraum Düsseldorf, extended format will be presented in Andrejsala in Riga along with a catalogue.
